Comforter Batt Cleaning

Should be dry cleaned or washed in the following way:

Remove the comforter from the duvet cover. Wash in warm water and detergent safe for wool. DO NOT use clorine bleach. For sizes smaller than King Size, you can machine wash using ONLY the soak cycle. Fill the machine with warm water and detergent and then carefully submerge the comforter. DO NOT agitate or allow water to run onto the comforter. Let it soak for 30 minutes. Then extract water by using the gentlest spin cycle. Lift out carefully before adding rinse water at the same temperature as the wash. Then submerge again and soak. Repeat 2 to 3 times as necessary. Extract water each time. Then, carefully lift out the comforter and lay it out on a sheet on a deck, over a porch railing or a landing railing. When dry, use the AIR ONLY dryer cycle to fluff.

If you have a King Size, we recommend putting several inches of warm water with detergent in your bath tub and then submerging the comforter there to soak. After soaking, pull the comforter toward the back of the tub and pull the plug. Let it drain for awhile and then hold the comforter back while you put in the plug and add rinse water at the same temperature. Repeat this 2 or 3 times as necessary. After draining the last time, carefully gather the comforter into a large pan and transport to the washer and use the gentlest spin cycle to extract as much water as possible. Do not let the machine agitate or add water. Dry as above.
